The Rector writes:

I return to the parish this September 2023 after four months on sabbatical leave.

Spending time reading and thinking and praying in Italy and England has been very refreshing. The last opportunity I had was 20 years ago!

WE now have a new diocesan Bishop and Archdeacon of Liverpool and I am delighted to have been appointed to be the Associate Archdeacon and to be able to offer over thirty years experience of ministry to support them and the diocese.

As we here at Holy Trinity look to our future, there is much to be thankful for and much to prepare for. The Church of England is going through a great period of change to make it worthy and accessible for our present age. The Deanery of Toxteth and Wavertree are engaging with amalgamations of parishes and financial difficulties and we are all called to work together and support each other with a wider vision of how we can serve our communities in an age where Christianity is one of many faiths expressed. We are in many ways going through a new 'reformation' and the Church must adapt and be fit for the mission and outreach necessary and relevant for the 21st century. Our trust in the Lord and we commend our future to prayer.
The Rector.
